Day 1: Transfer to hotel in Kigali

Your 7 days Rwanda wildlife safari starts with a warm welcome from our driver guide. He take you through a quick briefing on what this tour is all about and later, head off to your respective hotel.

Dine and spend a night at Kigali Serena Hotel (Luxury), Elegance Motel (Budget)

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park and boat ride

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on a road trip to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savanna grassland park. After lunch, you have boat ride via Lake Ihema and this comes with astonishing sights at hippos, crocodiles and water birds a mention but a few.

Dine and spend a night at Dereva Hotel (Budget), Akagera Game Lodge (Midrange) or Ruzizi Tented Lodge/Magashi Luxury Tented Camp (Luxury).

Day 3: Game drive and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park

Today, your 4th day of the 7 day Rwanda wildlife safari kick starts with breakfast and later, you will gather at Volcanoes National Park headquarters for you to have briefing on dos and don’ts that you are supposed to observe while on gorilla trek. Ensure that you have your packed lunch/energy giving snacks and bottled water. A trek to see mountain gorillas in this park may take you about 4 to 8 hours but this may depend on your hiking speed, nature of habitat and location of gorillas. This also covers an hour of a face to face encounter with mountain gorillas. Dine and spend a night at Bisate Lodge/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Kinigi Guesthouse (Budget) or Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge/Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge (Mid0-range).

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you may opt to embark on golden monkey tracking or a hike to Dian Fossey tomb site for you to explore more about Dian Fossey and conservation legacy. Later, head off to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Dine and spend a night at Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury), Nyungwe Top View Lodge (Moderate) or Gisakura Guesthouse (Basic).

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

Following breakfast early in the morning, you will gather at the park headquarters for you to be briefed on dos and don’ts for chimpanzee tracking. Besides chimpanzees, this 7 day Rwanda wildlife safari also comes with amazing sights at varied primate species including colobus monkeys, mangabeys, blue monkeys and forest birds. Return to the lodge for you to have lunch and rest then take part in a canopy walk in the afternoon. This comes with remarkable views of primates, birds and unique plants and tree species.
